Option 2 – Purchase product through Southern States Stores in Amelia, Burkeville and Farmville.  You have to give store at least a 10-day notice of your needs, they place order and then you pick up order at the store.  You have to pay on pick up with credit card, check or cash.  You will not be able to put the order on your Farm Plan Account.  This option can be used, as you need vaccines, year round.  You will need to tell them you are a member of AAC,LLC.

2008 VQA Feeder Cattle Sales:

We have just completed our sales and have marketed just over 2000 head of VQA qualified feeder calves.  We had the opportunity to see some of those calves in Pennsylvania last week and we were very excited to see:
            The calves are doing well!
The buyers and see their satisfaction with the calves.
Learn more about the PA feeders.
Review the dates listed above and to get the ball rolling you need to start communicating your intentions with sales this years.  Items you need to know:

  1. You need to confirm that you are certified through the Beef Quality Assurance Program

and the SLN Ag. Info Link Process Verified Program.  You will have to get that straight            order to sell in these sales.  (contact Cynthia Gregg or me to confirm your status)

  1. I need to know the approximate numbers of calves you plan to sell with us this year in

in order to get RFID/VQA tags ordered.  This does not need to exact but a ball park est.

  1. I need to know the numbers of calves you would like to put in the co-mingle program in

order to assure that we have enough slots.  We have developed reputation on these calves and the PA buyers really like them.  Background costs will be higher but we need to stay with the program as we now have market share.
As I hear from you I will get you more specific information and we will also be able to discuss plans at the March 20th meeting.

April Mineral – Specific information will be out by the end of March.

VAPAH Spring Bred Heifers – Need to hear from you if you need information on the program or want to consign your heifers to the program.
